A watch on a UDI.

UdiWatch is the list of device and manufacturer records you asked us to re-read. The name is two words pushed together. Both are literal.

Udi

Udi is UDI, the Unique Device Identifier. Said out loud it is “you-dee”, which is why the brand is not printed as U.D.I. The letters stay in that order because that is the identifier on the label, in the tender, and in EUDAMED.

We did not call it UDI-DI Watch. A UDI-DI is one device model. The basic UDI-DI is the group a certificate is hung on. An SRN is the manufacturer’s actor number, not a UDI at all. The product watches a UDI-DI or an SRN. UDI is the family name of the codes people paste in, so the brand leads with that and not with the Commission’s register.

EUDAMED is not in the name on purpose. It is their register. Putting it on the door would read as an official tool. We are not one. The public API at ec.europa.eu is the source. When that screen and our copy disagree, the screen wins.

Watch

Watch is the row you keep, and the verb. One code, a stored snapshot, a later comparison. The first successful read is the baseline. It does not count as news. A later read writes an event only when a watched field has a new value, and only when that new value is not empty. A timeout is not “certificate removed”. A missing expiry is left missing.

It is not a clock, and it is not a watch on a person. There is no patient, clinician, or hospital staff in the data model. The thing under watch is a public device record or a public manufacturer record.

The domain is one word, udiwatch.com, because “UDI watch” with a space looks like a feature of the register. It is a separate site.

Who this is

UdiWatch is for people who already hold a list of codes: regulatory affairs, distributors, and hospital procurement. You get 7 days and 25 watches. With Stripe connected, a card starts that trial and is not charged until it ends. Cancel anytime and keep the days left. After the period ends you can subscribe again. The free trial is once per account.

We do not sell the watch list, we do not issue certificates, and we do not tell you whether you may still place a device on the market. That decision stays with you. The notes explain the fields. The API is the same watches, for software.
